Alejandra’s talents were cultivated over a lifetime of wide-ranging experiences in a variety of locations. Born in Michoacán, Mexico, she grew up in Mexico City and at the age of 18 moved to Europe.
Showing an early talent in a variety of arts such as acting, singing and dancing, she went on to study at Paul Hindemith Music School in Neukölln, Berlin, studying Musical Show.
Following this, she specialized in TV Host and TV Radio & Voice-over at the Deutsche Pop Academie in Munich.
Shortly after, she started working in German TV series and commercials. In 2016, after 14 years’ experience, Alejandra took part in the TV-show “MasterChef Germany” which gave her career a gastronomic impulse.
She then started working in the restaurant scene under the wing of well-known TV Chef Ralph Zacherl at Schmidt Z&Ko, Eins 44 restaurant under Head Chef Tim Tannenberger and eventually became a Head Chef at Lausebengel restaurant in Berlin in 2019, working along side of Chef Kristof Mulak.
In the meantime, Alejandra was also traveling to Mexico and spent several months learning more about her Mexican gastronomic culture, which eventually took her to the very roots of Mexican gastronomy.
She found herself working and learning from “cocineras tradicionales” (traditional cooks) in the mountains of Mexico. This took her to restaurant “El Verdadero Sabor de Apatzingan“ in Patzcuaro Michoacan, with traditional chef Maestra Victoria Velazquez.
She continued learning and working along side of several outstanding Mexican chefs. This time with Chef Gerardo Montoya at UNEDL in Guadalajara. Following this was Prehispanic cooking at “Gusina, Oaxaca” in Mexico City & finally with Chef Alejandrao Ruiz, also in Oaxaca.
Back in Germany, Alejandra joined TV Chef Mike Süsser to form the jury of the TV show “My Kitchen Rules”. She also worked and was trained for several months in one of the most renowned German Bakeries “Bäckerei Hartwich” where she discovered yet another passion: GERMAN Bread…
Alejandra is now spending some time in Mexico, getting inspired for her next gastronomic adventure which she will be excited to share with you soon!
